What is the best quality camera i can buy my six year old for around $60?

My daughter loves taking pictures but i don’t want to let her use my expensive camera. We had bought her one of those fisher price cameras before but the quality is terrible and you can’t see anything. Since real cameras prices have dropped, i figured now is a good time to buy her a decent digital camera. Any ideas on which brand to go with. It doesn’t have to be fancy, but i would like to see what she is taking a picture of. Thanks in advance.

Nice gift idea!
I’ve used several different Kodak digitals and liked the quality and ease. Once you learn your way around the software that is. Pretty tough little piece of tech too. Suggest getting a mem card for it, sixes like taking Lots of pictures. Batteries usually last about an hour. Didn’t price any of the following:

If your daughter has a love of photography, I wouldn’t distract her with some digital toy, no matter how reasonable the price.
Get some 35 mm disposable camera. Let her learn about negatives, proof sheets, all that. Give her a fun learning tool, not just another toy.
The Digital cameras in the 60-100 dollar range will take horrible photos. It’s not worth the “convenience”.

I don’t think you will get anything decent for less than $100. Depending on how careful your daughter is, and how well she will listen and use the wrist strap so she won’t drop it, this is one camera you might consider—
It is a very good camera for the money, and she can definitely grow with this one. And it will give her good pictures!

You can buy a used Canon camera for about that much. I gave MY daughter and old digital camera when I upgraded and she loves it. Some of the cheap new ones have such bad resolution they are unusable. And if your six year old shoots some good ones you can save or print them too!
I see a used Canon Digital powershot with 5.0 MP going for $51 here
