I understand that there are different types of speed camera, and I need to know how a speed camera works. Let it be noted that i’m not asking how ‘average speed cameras’ work, I am just asking how a ‘bog standard’ speed camera works. How does it register and record your speed?

basically, before you pass the camera, a picture is taken of you and you car, then soon as you pass the camera another picture is taken,
all what happens it measures the time it takes for the first picture to the second,
